
KAYAPALAT SURVEY : Is Plastic Pollution Increasing in Janakpurdham ?

Kayapalat, in collaboration with Nagarik Mirror has started the Kayapalat Survey as part of the anti-plastic campaign to understand the opinion of Janakpurdham residents.
After the 2074 local elections in Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city, focusing on the issues related to free waste management. This survey is being conducted to understand the opinion of the residents of Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan city, about the waste management issue which was emerged as a crucial agenda after the 2074 local elections.
The survey questionnaire consists of 22 questions where the responders can easily answer them with the alternative options provided in each question. Responders’ personal data are ensured with confidentiality. Diwakar Uprety, the founder of Kayapalat, informed that this survey was started to ensure the accountability of the local government and the condition of the increasing plastic waste in Janakpurdham and the expectations of Janakpurdham residents.
There are 5 sections in the survey questionnaire where the first section consists of demographic questions such as age, identity and address whereas the second section consists of awareness and perception of plastic pollution. Similarly, the third section consists of individual efforts and responsibilities. The fourth section consists of involvement of the government and the community, while in the fifth section consists of questions and suggestions.
Based on the questions in all these sections, one can understand why and how plastic pollution is increasing in Janakpurdham.
Interested responders can participate in this survey from 22 Falgun to 7 Chaitra. The facts and information obtained from the survey will be published by the Nagarik Mirror.
